Terms of Service
Last Updated: March 23, 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TravelCanvas ("Service"), including tools to create, edit, share, and publish travel itineraries and related content. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service may include free features and paid plans such as Pro (“Paid Plans”). Paid Plans are also subject to the terms presented at checkout and the terms of our payment processor (such as Stripe).
2. Definitions
- “User”: an individual who uses the Service, with or without an account.
- “Content”: any text, images, itinerary data, or other information you submit, upload, generate, store, or make available through the Service.
- “Public Content”: Content that you configure so other users or the public can view it through the Service.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. Activity under your account is your responsibility, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or where operational or legal reasons require it.
4. The Service
We provide itinerary planning, editing, sharing, publication, AI-assisted features, and related functionality as described on the Service. We may add, change, or discontinue features with or without notice.
5. Posting and Publication
You may only submit Content you have the right to use. You must not infringe others' intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights. Public Content may be discoverable via search engines and third parties, and access controls such as passwords reduce but do not eliminate the risk of unintended disclosure.
6. License to Operate the Service
By submitting Content to the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, store, display, reproduce, back up, secure, and technically process that Content as necessary to operate, provide, improve, and moderate the Service.
You retain ownership of your Content.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any of the following activities:
- Violating any applicable laws or regulations
- Harassing, harming, or misleading others
- Infringing intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights
- Impersonation, fraud, spam, malware, scraping, unreasonable automated access, or imposing excessive load on the Service
- Attempting unauthorized access or interfering with security
- Any other conduct we reasonably deem inappropriate
8. Moderation
We are not obligated to monitor all Content. We may remove or restrict Content, or suspend accounts, without prior notice where we believe it is necessary for legal compliance, rights-holder requests, user safety, security, or reliable operation of the Service.
General inquiries, infringement reports, abuse reports, and communications regarding moderation actions may be accepted through the contact form or other contact methods designated on the Service. We are not obligated to respond to every inquiry or report, but we may review and respond within a reasonable scope where appropriate.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate third-party maps, payments, sign-in, ads, AI APIs, and similar services. Their terms and privacy practices apply to your use of those services. We are not responsible for third-party services.
10. Paid Plans
Fees, billing cycles, and plan features are shown at checkout and on the Service.
Paid Plans renew automatically unless you cancel before the next renewal date. If you cancel before the next renewal date, future charges will stop, and you may continue to use the Paid Plan until the end of the already-paid billing period, where applicable.
Except where required by law or expressly stated by us, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Please also refer to our legally required commercial disclosures.
11. Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties regarding the reliability, accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement of the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits or data.
If we are liable to you for damages relating to the Service, our liability is limited to your direct and ordinary damages and shall not exceed the total amount of Paid Plan fees you actually paid to us during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. If you have not paid any Paid Plan fees during that period, our total liability shall not exceed JPY 10,000.
We are not a party to disputes between users or between users and third parties.
12. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms by posting revised Terms on the Service. The new Terms take effect on the posted effective date. If changes are material, we will try to provide reasonable notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The district court or summary court having jurisdiction over the operator's address shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
